Story Place... awesome resource for PreSchoolers and Kindergarten students -  hosted by the Public Library of Charlotte-Mecklenburg County (Charlotte, NC)
Note - since we don't belong to this library, we can't "request from library."  But they DO welcome people from other states to "add your comments."  If this site helps you find a great book, leave them a comment and let them know!

RECOMMENDED
READING LISTS:
Don't let your brain mush into a SLUMP during your breaks away from school...
keep it fed by being WELL-READ!!!
While there's not any one perfect recommended reading list, you may want to check out the following 2 groups of lists... and as always,   AR BOOKFINDER is included here (see below) to help you decide if particular books are appropriate for your child As your child advances in his/her reading levels, PLEASE remember that even though your child may be able to READ the words of a book, the content (storyline and/or vocabulary) may not be understandable and/or appropriate.  Use
AR BOOKFINDER to check the interest level... LG is lower grades, MG is middle grades, and UG is upper grades.  This tool will also alert you to any content you might find objectionable .
Mrs. Ginn thinks that using these lists and
AR BOOKFINDER
are some really great suggestions!

The Public Schools of Brookline, Massachusetts:
On this site (click on the yellow link title above) you'll find a series of 8-12 page reading lists (grades PK-high school) that you can download as PDFs. These excellent annotated lists, prepared by the school librarians, are well-organized and contain both
recent and classic books.
Lists are typically published to this site around Memorial Day.  If the 2018 lists aren't up yet, check out the Summer List Archive or Best Books pages... all are AWESOME CHOICES!!!

Great Schools.org - Great book suggestions for grades K-5.

Common Sense Media - great reading suggestions in the article "50 Books All Kids Should Read Before They are 12" - this site also contains a "Best of..." list section (as seen in the picture below) that is WONDERFUL:
