Sadly, I have not been reading much this summer.  BUT... it's because I am working hard in the library making some BIG changes!!!  Have you ever heard of GENRE-FYING?  Well... it's coming soon to the AES Library!  Just let the picture be a clue for you...

Since I haven't had much time for MY reading, maybe you'll share what YOU have been reading during your summer break.  C'mon students AND teachers... let me hear from you!  I'd love to post your responses.  Just give me title/author name of a book (or BOOKS) that you have been enjoying.  You can even tell us a bit about it (but don't give away the ending)!  Prizes for all who respond when we return to school in August... now GO!

Being the science nerd that I am, I have been reading What Stands in a Storm. This book is all about my hero weatherman, James Spann, and his remembrance of April 27, 2011. He along with a few others tell the story of that life-changing day. It is centered around my hometown of Tuscaloosa. I especially found the map of tornado paths interesting. The back of the book has a list of those who perished as a result of the storms. Mr. and Mrs. Lipscomb are listed. I found it very touching.

I like to read train books such as Diesel Locomotives, Freight Trains, Freight Yards and Steam Locomotives. I like trains because i like to ride steam trains and learn about diesel trains. I would recommend for kids to read these books at Jacksonville Public Library.

My favorite summer reading book was How to Drive Your Sister Crazy because I like to pick on my sister. My next favorite summer reading book was Goblin Sharks because I love to learn about new species of sharks. Another favorite summer reading book was Armadillos, Anteaters, and Sloths because I like sloths, anteaters, and armadillos.

I've been reading the 4th Harry Potter book- HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE by J.K. Rowling. It's really good and really exciting and I can't wait to finish it so I can read the next one! I just bought The Isle of the Lost by Melissa De La Cruz. It's a Descendants novel. I want to read it before the movie comes out.

What great book have you read lately?  Tell us what makes it fabulous, but don't give away the best parts (OR especially the ending)!  Post the title and author... AR level, too if you know it!
